Dates: May 11 – June 1, 2012
Price: $2,900. Price includes airfare to and from Peru, all in country travel, food, hotels, equipment, entrance fees to all attractions like Machu Picchu, donations to families that will host us and cost of supplies for doing service.
Application Deadline: Nov 4th, 2011.
*Applications may be accepted after Nov. 4th, but the price is subject to increase due to rising flight costs.
Adventure Level: Beginner-Intermediate. No experience required.

Travel to and from Peru
EXPERIENCE PERU begins and ends in Zelienople, PA right outside of Pittsburgh. Participants will be responsible for travel to and from Zelienople, but the CCO will purchase all plane tickets and the group will fly together to Lima, Peru and then back to Pittsburgh from Lima at the end of the trip. A passport that is valid for at least 6 months past our return date is necessary for travel to and from Peru. Participants are responsible for applying for passports. Visas are not necessary for a 3 week stay in Peru. Our travels will not take us anywhere in Peru that requires special vaccinations.
Trip Leadership
EXPERIENCE PERU will be lead by 3 CCO full-time staff members: Sam Van Eman and two additional instructors. Sam is certified in wilderness emergency medicine and all of them have experience traveling and leading trips abroad and together, with (collectively) over 25 years of experience in college and adventure ministry.
Safety
Safety is always the priority in any trip led by the CCO. All risk is managed according to standards set forth by the CCO’s own Safety and Wellness Committee and those of our partnering organization, TruWin Risk Management Inc. Experience Peru’s trip tuition covers international medical insurance for each of the participants that includes the cost of an emergency flight to a US hospital, if necessary. We will only visit areas of the country that a CCO staff person has visited and determined are not unnecessary safety risks.
